Welcome back to 'Shop The Look' and this week it's all about the light florals. It is officially summer time here in the UK and the florals are popping up my radar. Florals have always been synonymous with the spring/summer season and is the perfect way to introduce patterns and prints into an interior. Florals can work brilliantly with a variety of different design styles, from the more traditional to bohemian to even modern. Like with all patterns, florals require a trained eye to make them work in a design scheme without ending up looking too kitsch.
However, light and subtle florals are not as overwhelming as bold and dark florals and therefore are a lot easier to work with. They bounce off pastel and neutral colours beautifully and they offer a grounding and calming look to bold colours as well. And it is because of this versatility that I love incorporating them into design schemes.
I've been exploring light florals for a client who was after a beautiful bedroom scheme centered around florals and pastel colours. It was through this that this week's 'Shop The Look' as come into fruition. Bedrooms are ideal for floral prints and the soft calming effect of florals is often sought after by many. Pair them with natural materials such wood, rattan and stone to create a serene and natural design scheme. Below are my top picks for this look.
