It's usually around this when I usually decide on my colour of the year. I'm partial to a bit of blue. So as you can imagine this year, I've picked a blue.
Blue is a colour whose versatility knows no end. There's a shade of blue for every occasion. Well, there is for me. The sense of calm and serenity that exudes from this colour remains unmatched. I always find myself drawn to the moodier and darker tones of blue.
Stiffkey Blue by Farrow and Ball is the blue for me this year. What drew me to this was this shade of colour with the undercurrents of moodiness. It's lighter in colour compared to other deep blues, and you can feel that lightness. It merges the sophistication on of glamour and the rawness of nature, to create a simple yet complex colour.
Farrow and Ball have described this colour as following; 'This inky blue is named after the Norfolk Beach where the mud, along with the cockles, share a particular deep navy blue.'
